Polish wedding 101

A friendly cheat sheet for guests who have not been to a Polish wedding before.

The vibe

Long, joyful & late

Polish weddings often mean a generous meal, lots of dancing, toasts, games and a party that goes well into the night. Pace yourself!

Dress

[DRESS CODE]

[EDIT ME: e.g. colourful garden / barn chic. Please bring shoes you can dance in.]

01

Toast culture

You may hear “Na zdrowie!” (“to your health”). Joining a toast is a simple way to participate.

02

Bread & salt

A traditional welcome may involve bread and salt. If we include it, just follow along.

03

Dancing

You do not need to know Polish dances. Copy the people around you and enjoy the dance floor.

04

Food

Expect several courses and possibly a late-night snack.

05

Languages

English, German and Polish will all be welcome here.

06

Traditions

[EDIT ME: add the traditions you plan to include — oczepiny, first dance, cake, games, etc.]
